Alaska Sea Kayak Trips

We have lots of options for sea kayaking - everything from half-day trips and family trips to multi-day trips and adventure packages.  Take a look at the links to the right, and we're sure you'll find just the option you're looking for!  If not, give us a call, and we'll see what we can put together.  Most of our trips will book with as few as two people, and unless you book as a large, collective group, our trip maximum is 6-8 people (depending on the trip).  We can almost always accommodate the dates you want, even on our multi-day trips.

All of our trips use double kayaks... for multiple reasons.  This is Alaska, and the water is very cold and the weather can be quite changeable.  Doubles are much more stable than singles, and allow us to take out paddlers of various abilities.  Plus, having two people in the boat is great if the wind picks up or someone gets tired!  They're also faster boats, so you can see more of the coastline during your trip.

We do not offer kayak rentals - only guided trips.  There are so many factors to be aware of when paddling in this area, and we feel it will be a better, and potentially safer, experience with a local guide.  Your guide will be with you for your entire trip.

There are inherent risks associated with sea kayaking in Alaska, but we do our best to manage and control these risks.  Our guide training lasts over a month each spring, and focuses on kayaking and rescue skills, wilderness medicine, natural history, weather, native cultures, climate change, Leave-No-Trace, and local knowledge and experience.  Our guides are fun, engaging, and intelligent individuals - and they will do their best to lead you, teach you, and share this paradise with you.  Take a look at our "Meet Our Guides" section to get to know our team.

If you're considering a trip that goes out to Aialik Bay (eye-AL-ik) or Northwestern Fjord, it's a good idea to have a couple of "weather days" on either end of the trip.  That way, if the seas do get big and challenge the water taxi's ability to deliver or pick-up the trip... there is a better chance of rescheduling.  Just remember, this is Alaska and we can't control the weather.  Since this is coastal rainforest, our trips do run rain or shine... usually only high winds and big seas will cancel a trip.

We recommend purchasing travel insurance for your trip to Alaska.  You can find information for this, and many other trip resources under our "Resources" link at the top of the page.
