We are proud members of 1% for the Planet, and have donated over $100,000 to Alaska based nonprofits working to protect our landscapes, wildlife, and communities.

Our tours emphasize Leave No Trace principles; together, we aim to leave every place as wild, healthy, and inspiring as we found it.

We are the only sea kayaking company in Alaska that is WhaleSense certified, practicing responsible wildlife viewing and fostering a deep respect for the wildlife we encounter.

Kayak Adventures is also proud to hold a Gold Star certification with Adventure Green Alaska for sustainable tourism practices.

Our Impact Initiatives

1% for the Planet

At Kayak Adventures, we’re proud members of 1% for the Planet, committing 1% of our annual sales to local nonprofits that protect Alaska’s communities, ecosystems, and wildlife. Thanks to our guests, we’ve donated over $100,000 so far.

Through our Kayak. Pick. Give. program, every guest gets to choose which nonprofit resonates most with them. On your tour you’ll learn about our partners, then cast your “vote” with a wooden token. At year’s end, we divide our donation based on your choices—ensuring that your adventure directly supports what matters most to you.

Seward Farmers Market

In 2021, we co-founded the Seward Farmers Market with our sister company, Seward Wilderness Collective. The goals of the market are:

Empower community resilience

Support local food initiatives

Inspire collective stewardship

Join us every Saturday in the summer from 10am – 2pm in downtown Seward on 4th Ave, next to the Ranting Raven.

Carbon Offsets

You can help us shape the future of Alaska’s travel industry. We offer two optional carbon offset programs where guests can choose to offset the emissions from:
– Flights to Alaska through our partners Offset Alliance.
-The water taxi ride to Aialik Bay, when booking your tour through us. (Just $3 per person)

Your money will help fund the conservation of coastal rainforest in Southcentral Alaska, not far away from us in Seward.

Through these two programs we have offset over 4,600 tonnes of CO2,  the equivalent of planting 75,000 trees or removing 1,000 cars from the road for an entire year.
