If you’re thinking of pairing our Half Day Resurrection Bay Kayak Tour with a boat tour to see the park, we’d recommend checking out our combo tour: the Aialik Glacier & Wildlife Day Trip. This tour combines an intimate wildlife boat tour that follows a similar path as the larger boat tours out to Kenai Fjords National Park with an incredible glacier sea kayaking experience at Aialik Glacier, the largest tidewater glacier in the park!
The water taxi we use for our Aialik Glacier Day Trip has an 18-passenger limit, and our captains are actively searching out wildlife viewing opportunities on our way to Aiaik Bay. You’ll have your knowledgable Kayak Adventures guide by your side the whole time, so rather than listening to an interpretive talk on a tour boat’s loud speaker, you’ll be having a face-to-face conversation about the glaciers, wildlife, and the incredible ecosystems around you. Our guide to guest ratio is 1:6, so you’ll have plenty of time & opportunity to learn from our professional, warm, and enthusiastic guides.
When you reach the tidewater glaciers of Kenai Fjords National Park, you’ll disembark the water taxi for 3 to 4 hours of kayaking exploration. Listen to the ‘white thunder’ of Aialik Glacier calving, spot harbor seals resting on ice flows, and paddle along the enchanting coastline of the glacial fjord. Then return to Seward on the water taxi for another couple hours of spotting the wildlife who call this place home, returning just in time for dinner in town.
Although we welcome children younger than any other kayaking operator in Seward and our guides are wonderful with kids, all of our kayaking tours require a minimum age of 6 years, so an excursion with Kenai Fjords Tours is a fantastic option for families traveling with younger children. Boat tours can also be a solution if some members in your party want to go kayaking with us, but others are unable due to limited mobility. Sign them up for a boat tour and you can swap stories at the end of the day over a delicious meal in Seward.
