This is our most popular day trip! The only day trip that visits a tidewater glacier, and our only day trip that goes to Kenai Fjords National Park. It offers the best opportunity for possibly viewing whales, sea lions, puffins, and other "bigger" wildlife. It combines an intimate 2.5 hour wildlife boat tour with the opportunity to paddle near Aialik Glacier, the most actively calving glacier in the Kenai Fjords National Park.
The 2.5 - 3 hour water taxi ride to / from the fjords, provides a more intimate experience than larger boat tours. The boat trip does add to the higher price tag, but it is essentially two trips in one! Most people think that it's totally worth the money, but that is a factor to consider. This is a great trip for anyone who is looking for a less expensive adventure and / or who wants to maximize their kayaking time. Since this trip doesn't include any boat transport, there is more time for actual paddling. Depending on timing, weather, and interests - there are multiple options for including some hiking and exploration by foot in the rainforest as well. If you want to escaped the crowds and get a bit farther out of town, then this is a fantastic option! This trip uses a water taxi to take you to the eastern coastline near Fox Island, and you'll spend the heart of the day kayaking that area. Visiting a more dramatic coastline, where rock faces meet the sea, this trip has fewer "hiking" options than those venturing to Caines Head. End your day on the Fox Island split where you can check out the ghost forest and tide pools. For more information on this tour, please click here.
