Why Choose Us

Here are just a few reasons...

  1. Our company has been offering quality sea kayaking trips in the area since 1984.
  2. We've been awarded Gold Star recognition through Adventure Green Alaska for sustainable tourism.  We are accredited by the Better Business Bureau, certified by Green Star, are a member of the local Chamber / ACVB / AWRTA / ATIA / Leave-No-Trace, and we actively support the local community.
  3. Our guides have been through the most extensive training in the area.  They all hold Wilderness First Responder certifications, have great local knowledge, and are well trained and practiced in kayaking skills and safety.  Ask around about other training programs, and you'll see the difference!
  4. For every person we take kayaking, we donate $2 to the ALASKA WIND FOR SCHOOLS program, helping to put wind turbines at remote Alaskan schools and to educate our youth about sustainable energy.
  5. We hold safety, training, and customer satisfaction as top priorities.
  6. We take pride in using top of the line gear... from Hilleberg tents to PVC free drybags... our choices are about quality and remaining environmentally friendly whenever possible.
  7. We focus on being GREEN - from our laundry detergent to our gear choices to our electricity & paper usage...
  8. Our trips focus on environmental preservation and Leave-No-Trace practices.
  9. We maintain a small group size to maximize safety, education, and your experience (6-8 people max).
  10. We're conveniently located right downtown in Seward.
  11. We provide FREE transportation to and from the kayak trip launch site.
  12. We were chosen to lead film crews from both the Travel Channel and Discovery Channel in Kenai Fjords National Park for work on documentaries.

We are a small shop with a very friendly and welcoming vibe.  Our focus is soley on kayaking, so we put our energy into running high quality trips.  Some companies try to offer too much, and lose the quality of their product in the process.  And other companies don't focus on safety or education - they simply want to put people on the water.  Be sure to do your research before you choose an operator to kayak with.

We want to share this wonderful place with you, and help keep it thriving for generations to come. Call us, and learn how to be a part of this exciting endeavor.

Thanks - and we hope to see you soon!!

Wendy & Dave Doughty, and all our guides.
