Resurrection Bay Full-Day Trips: Packing List

Thanks for signing up for our full-day trip!  This trip is a wonderful way to escape the activity of town, and get out to see wildlife and nature at its finest.  It is also a great introduction to the sport of kayaking.  You'll be paddling in double kayaks, and your guide will provide basic instruction before you even leave the beach.

Please arrive at our office at 8 am for this trip.

There are a few things that we ask you to bring for this adventure, in order to be well prepared for the Alaskan weather.  Typically, the rainy days have calmer water and the sunny days have a south day breeze with a little chop.  Our trips will run rain or shine... the only time we cancel trips is if the seas are dangerously rough (this does happen, but is rare).  So, no matter what the weather - we want you to be prepared for the day.  We will provide each participant with a drybag - to carry extra layers of clothes and a camera.  Our full-day trip includes lunch, light snacks, hot drinks, and juice.  If you would like to bring other food along, you are more than welcome to do so.  Please advise our office staff if you have any dietary restrictions, and we will do our best to accommodate them.

We do rent "pogies" (neoprene mitts designed specifically for keeping your hands warm while kayaking) for $5 / day if you are interested.  We also sell Sealskinz socks (waterproof socks to keep your feet dry) for $40 / pair.

Please be sure to have the following things with you:

- Synthetic clothing (cotton and jeans make you very cold if they get wet)

- Rain coat and rain pants
- If you do not bring your own rain gear, we may require you to purchase the cheap $10 rain suit we sell in our office, depending on the weather conditions.
- Comfortable footwear that can get wet

- Extra clothes - gloves, hat, warm fleece, layers - in case you get cold or wet (we'll provide a drybag for these)

- Bottle of water (We sell these in our shop for $1)

- Sunscreen and sunglasses

- Camera, if you'd like

- Binoculars, if you'd like
