Spend a day sea kayaking beautiful Resurrection Bay with Kayak Adventures Worldwide and another day hiking on Exit Glacier with Exit Glacier Guides.
The kayak day begins at 8am at Kayak Adventures Worldwide office in downtown Seward. We'll paddle the western coastline of Resurrection Bay with the option of entering Tonsina Creek if the tide permits. We'll stop at Waterfall Beach to strech our legs with a 5 minute walk to an incredible 80' waterfall. We'll paddle to Caines Head for lunch and hot drinks. If time allows we can hike a bit on Caines Head's great trails. We'll paddle back to Lowell Point for a 4pm pick up.
The glacier hiking day is a 5 hour excursion. It starts at 11am at Exit Glacier Guides' office near the small boat harbor. The hike begins on a well maintained national park trail and proceeds 1.6 miles up the mountain. When we reach the ice, we don crampons, ice axes and helmets. This gear allows you to safely navigate the ice and undulating terrain of Exit Glacier. Exit Glacier Guides staff will identify many natural plants and flowers. They will explain basic glacial geology and identify wildlife.
The glacier-hike is moderately challenging. Please ask us about fitness requirements if you are not sure if you can handle the trip.
