We cap all of our Adult Tours at just 6 people (ages 14+), to provide the most intimate and meaningful guest experience while minimizing our impact on the places we visit. This is a true small group tour! If you have a larger group, we’re happy to arrange a private tour for your group, at no extra cost. If you’re traveling with kids ages 6-13, learn more about our Private Family Tours.
All of our tours are led by knowledgeable, thoughtful, and, enthusiastic guides. Our guide training lasts over a month each spring, and focuses on kayaking + rescue skills, wilderness medicine, natural history, weather, Alaska Native cultures, climate change, Leave-No-Trace, and local knowledge and experience. Learn more about our incredible crew on our Meet the Team page.
All of our trips include your guide, kayak, paddling & safety equipment (PFD, paddling mitts, spray skirt), transportation from our downtown location, dry bags, hot drinks, and snacks. For full day trips, we also include locally made sandwiches for lunch and your water taxi fees if applicable. We even have high quality rain jackets, rain pants, and rubber boots you can borrow if you need them! On all of our trips, we use double kayaks – for stability, pacing, efficiency, and risk management reasons. The only things you’ll need to plan for are personal clothing (you’ll receive a detailed packing list upon booking), an adventurous spirit and gratuity for your guide.
Our multi-day trips can be run as Fully Outfitted or Guided Rentals, depending on how you’d like to travel. We also work with a local captain to provide Mothership Trips, where you sleep aboard the boat and paddle each day. Our multi-day calendar fills up quickly, so please be in touch in advance if you’d like to plan a multi-day kayaking trip.
