If you're looking for a unique and multi-sport full day trip in Resurrection Bay, this is a great option.  Meet at our office in downtown Seward at 8am.  From there, we'll drive you to our launch beach at Lowell Point.  You'll return, by sailboat, to the small boat harbor by around 5 or 6pm.  Group size on this trip is limited to a maximum of 6 guests, so you're guaranteed an intimate, small-group experience!

With the whole day on the water, more options become available.  You'll paddle the coastline between Lowell Point and Caines Head, and explore the coastline as you go.  You'll learn all about the history of the area while you wander through the  coastal rainforest and the magnificent ghost forest left at Tonsina Point by the 1964 earthquake.  During certain months, you can watch the salmon run in the crystal clear waters of Tonsina Creek.  See them jump and dance, and watch them spawn from the birds-eye view on the bridge over the creek.  Land at a small beach where a 5-minute walk past a rambling stream reveals a 90' (ish) waterfall cascading down the rocky cliff.

Head to North Beach on Caines Head, where some great hiking options await. Depending on the timing and your interests, there are a handful of areas you can explore by foot.  Head up to Fort McGilvray and learn about the local military history, and see what's left from World War II.  Or work your way up the Alpine trail for a good workout and some great views.  Or meander from North Beach over to Derby Cove; a shorter, yet truly gorgeous hike.

After you've worked your arms a bit, enjoyed a delicious lunch, and stretched your legs out with a walk... it's time to hop on board the sailing vessel "Lyric".  Her captain and owner, Devin Putney, has been running boats and tours in the Seward area for the last seven years and has a great base of local knowledge.  He holds a 100 Ton Masters License with Sail Endorsement.  Load the kayaks up, set the sails, and spend the final hour of the trip relaxing to the swish of the water as it passes under her hull.  Now that's the way to end a good day of exploration!

All the while, keep a lookout for wildlife!  We'll often see sea otters, sea lions, harbor seals, harbor porpoise, bald eagles, and many sea birds.  With a full day on the water, there's a good chance of having some fantastic wildlife encounters.  This trip will return to our shop, downtown, sometime between 5 - 6pm.
